Your Stephen Ministers, as part of LIFEhouse outreach ministries, serve as Spiritual Care Volunteers at Northridge Hospital. They visit and pray for new born babies, the dying, those in physical rehabilitation, the emergency room, behavior disorders, pre-surgery, and general medical patients. They also assist in a variety of ways to help the Chaplains in the Spiritual Care Department including writing articles for the Spiritual Care Department Newsletter.
One of your leaders trains all the Protestant Volunteers who serve at the hospital, including the Catholic Eucharist Ministers.
Many of the Stephen Ministers volunteer to serve on the Cursillo and Via de Cristo weekends, and the Epiphany Youth Prison Ministry as Assistant Spiritual Directors, Table Leaders, Musicians, Table Servants, and Cooks during weekend Programs at Camarillo.
Your prayers and support have turned this ministry into a powerful evangelical service that brings prayer, healing and hope to our community. Please pray that God will continue to bless this ministry, and all ministries of LIFEhouse whose purpose is to serve and be a Christ-like spiritual presence to those we encounter in our lives.
Your Stephen Ministers have received hundreds of hours of training to be a one-on-one caring presence for those suffering from life’s traumas and tragedies.
Matthew 25: 35-36 “I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me a drink; I was a stranger and you received me in your home, I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”
